10-th Happy Anniversary

This year Classic Crewing Sp. z o.o. celebrates the 10th anniversary of its registration as a crewing and commercial-maritime agency/company operating in a broadly-defined market of maritime economy.

The anniversary prompts to recapitulate our achievements to date and to reflect on and plan the Company’s future expansion.

As a family company that started the business from scratch without any commercial backup, Classic Crewing through years of hard and tedious work has made it to the top among the Polish crewing agencies. All this time has not been misspent and the effects of our activity are tangible.

Our company recruiting specialist seafarers has helped hundreds of Polish sailors to find employment with overseas ship owners, something they were striving for in vain. It was especially important between 2000 – 2006 – the period of massive collapse of Polish ship transport and fishery.

Many of chief engineers, engineer officers, deck officers, seamen and cooks have worked aboard our ship owners’ vessels for 6 – 8 years. Many of them have reached a retirement age but we still employ them as so-called substitutes what allows them to supplement their pensions.

There is also a considerable group of young, energetic officers with 3 – 5 years’ work experience devoid of any inhibitions. Having graduated from Polish maritime universities, they work their way up the career ladder developing their professional skills.

Classic Crewing due to its consistent work and high standards has become recognisable in the crewing market in Europe and elsewhere. We are known to specialise in recruiting seafarers for various types of vessels: off-shore supply, stand-by, PSV, AHTS and the like.

We have established friendly permanent trade relations with several significant world’s operators in the off-shore industry. Thanks to this cooperation, not only do we gain prestige but also huge opportunities of placing onboard specialised vessels wider and wider group of Polish maritime specialists.

Over the years we have trained and educated professionally our agency personnel who are equal to our ship-owners’ specialists working abroad in terms of knowledge and experience.

Ms Anna Kossak, a former office manager,  is a good example; after 7 years of employment with Classic Crewing she was employed in 2008 by a large ship-owning and operating (off-shore) company from Singapore as the head of a large recruitment and shipping department.

She was replaced by Ms Agnieszka Wróblewska, our trainee, whose good education (Gdynia Maritime Academy graduate), flair, qualifications and charisma make her an ideal person to run efficiently everyday business at Classic Crewing.

Classic Crewing invariably acts in accordance with legally binding regulations in Poland and abroad, especially the Act on Promoting Employment and Institutions of Labour Market of April 20, 2004. We also have necessary licences to operate as a crewing agency issued by the Polish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Labour and the Marshal of Pomorskie Voivodship.

The goal of our Company for the incoming years is to carry on our business so that we can participate actively and effectively in gaining good contracts for Polish officers and seafarers whose position in the world’s labour market is getting stronger and stronger.

The main task of ours will be to support our loyal ship owners who, modernising and expanding their fleet of highly-specialised vessels, seek cooperation of very high standards and maritime specialists of the highest qualifications and experience.
